American Plastics Recycling Association (APR) "Compliant with Recyclable Recyclable Preferred Design" (MPG) rapid certification will be released soon
Recently, the American Plastics Recycling Association (APR) announced on its official website that they are developing a certification process that can quickly identify whether packaging meets the preferred design (MPG) in APR recyclability design and will be released soon. The certification aims to quickly identify whether the materials, components and entire packaging used in PET, HDPE, PP and PE film packaging can meet the preferred design requirements in the APR Plastic Recyclability Design Guide.
The rapid certification process includes assessments conducted by the APR Recyclability Design Guide management and technical personnel, and the preferred design of the candidates is measured according to the standards of each APR Design Guide.
After successfully completing the entire technical evaluation, the manufacturer will receive an APR Association Approval Letter, certifying that the package or component is an "APR preferred" design, and can use the certification letter to prove the packaging's recycling compatibility and sustainable packaging market publicity.
At the same time, the European Plastics Recyclers Association (PRE) also issued the "Recyclability and Recyclable Content Declaration Specification", which clearly pointed out how the industry should transparently and correctly communicate the recyclability of plastic products, and set specific "recyclability" Guidelines for “do” and “don’t do” matters.
Companies that have obtained Recyclass certification, technology and/or product approvals can communicate to business partners, government departments, stakeholders, public procurement and consumers that their products and packaging are recyclable, designed for recyclability, or contain specific proportions The content of recycled materials (see the conditions in the guide).
The "Recyclability and Recyclable Content Usage Declaration Specification" stipulates the basic principles of the above communication. Ensure that any company that uses the RecyClass statement will do it in an accurate and transparent manner, leaving no room for misunderstanding.
In addition, Recyclass also released a set of marking systems for certified companies to prove recyclable design and renewable content. Companies can print the corresponding logo on the product packaging to communicate with consumers.
